HONEY BUTTER

Postpartum is full of sleepless nights, and while we can’t magically make your baby sleep through the night, this honey butter might just help you drift back to sleep when you need it most. A spoonful before bed or during those late-night feeds can be surprisingly supportive for your sleep quality, especially if insomnia has you wide awake at 3 a.m. The honey provides natural sugars that help regulate blood sugar overnight, while the butter offers grounding fats to keep you satiated. Add a sprinkle of good-quality salt, and you’ve got a dreamy, sleep-supporting duo right at your bedside.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup grass-fed unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
METHOD:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, honey, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
2. Use a hand mixer or whisk to beat the mixture until it’s light, fluffy, and irresistible.
3. Transfer the honey butter to a container for storage.
4. Refrigerate until ready to use, but feel free to keep it on your bedside table overnight if you’re using it as a sleep aid.
5. Serve it spread on bread, muffins, or pancakes, dolloped into porridge, or melted over roasted sweet potatoes for a sweet, buttery treat.
Honey butter isn’t just a tasty treat — it’s a postpartum sleep ally. Keep a jar by your bed to help you wind down at night and get through those middle-of-the-night feedings with a little extra comfort. It’s simple, soothing, and just sweet enough to remind you to take care of yourself too.
